  I've rented a winter rental for the past 5 years now without problems but needed to upgrade to a larger place. I foolishly decided to go with a property that Martin sold me on while turning down other good rentals. He told me I didn't need a lease and sent me an invoice which I paid the deposit immediately. A week before I was to move in, he cancelled our agreement and left me completely stranded. My friends and I had absolutely no where to stay and it was impossible to get a place at the same price now the season had started.

  Martin will lie, cheat and steal from you at any opportunity he can. He is the epitome of a dodgy real estate agent.

  Martin Cmunt (yes that's his real last name) is a despicable scammer who will cheat you at any chance he gets. Do not use him to sell or rent your property. Do not trust him in any dealings. He will cause you significant problems and headaches as he did me.

  This agency is one of the newest in the Snowy Mountains and boy aren't we glad we have a new one. Martin is prompt. Answers the telephone straight away which most other agencies in the area don't. If he is unavailable he will call back usually within the same day. There are a few agents in the area that take over a week to get back to you. We love this agency and are glad it has added welcome competition to the mountains.

  Martin's excuse was that the owner was going to renovate the property. This didn't sound right as why would someone choose to renovate during the peak rental period so I asked him to provide the cancellation of our agreement in writing. The next day his tone completely changed. He wrote to say I broke the agreement because I had a third person staying at the rental. He completely knew about the third person and our agreement was always for 3 people to stay at the property. I complained to the Department of Fair Trading and he lied through his teeth to them. Little did he know I had recorded all our conversations and had all our written correspondence from emails and sms messages. I had in writing him confirming our agreement of 3 people and proved he was a liar. Turns out he wanted to rent the place at $250 per night from a gumtree ad that was found.

  We agree fully with the assessment of Martin' s previous clients. He wil cheat and lie, he will try everything to take your money without necessarily doing anything for it! We signed him for a standard 3 month period in which he didn't manage 1 single inspection!!! Approx. 1 week before expiry of the contract we advised him that we will be terminating his involvement in accordance with the contract. Well, that didn't go down well. Straight away he responded that we owe him the full commission because we breached the contract... He sent us an rude letter stating we owe money to most agents in Jindabyne. He even had the hight to ask our conveyancing solicitor to support his claim for commission! And so on it goes.... To make it short, all we say, think twice before engaging a Real Estate Agent. Martin's Real Estate is positively the "dodgiest" we ever delt with!
